"With an open mind the light penetrates".
In 2009 I was life-threateningly ill and survived the crisis. After my hospital stay, I came home and looked out into the garden, and exclaimed to my wife: "Have you seen the birds, they are so fantastically alive", to which my wife smiled and said; “Haven't you seen it before?
The "new" thing for me was that everything was almost without a filter! Nature was beautiful, alive and vibrating as I saw it for the first time. I had come out with new eyes and with great gratitude.
That led to the project "Heaven in My Back Yard", a title I gave this new opening of my mind and which I have followed ever since.
I photograph, and through the image I get access to a glimpse of the cosmos/creation - a present moment in the middle of everyday life. It also gives focus and calm to my neurodivergent (ADHD) brain.
I work both with photography, various graphic expressions and am a musician etc. Is self-taught and experimental.
I live on the Helgenæs peninsula in Djursland, where many of my motifs are from.
