"With an open mind, the light penetrates."
In 2009 I was life-threateningly ill and survived the crisis. After my hospital stay, I came home and looked out into the garden, and exclaimed to my wife: “Have you seen the birds, they are so wonderfully alive”, to which my wife smiled and said; “Haven’t you seen that before?
The “new” thing for me was that everything was almost unfiltered! Nature was beautiful, alive and vibrant as if I was seeing it for the first time. I had come out with new eyes and with great gratitude.
That led to the project “Heaven in My Back Yard,” a title I gave to this new opening of my mind and which I have followed ever since.
I photograph, and through the image I gain access to a glimpse of the cosmos/creation - a present moment in the midst of everyday life. It also provides focus and calm for my neurodivergent (ADHD) brain.
I work with photography, various graphic expressions and am a musician, etc. I am self-taught and experimental.
I live on the Helgenæs peninsula in Djursland, where many of my motifs are from.
